Sea Vegetables

Ascophyllum Nodosum

A type of brown seaweed from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, also known as Norwegian Kelp, Knotted Kelp, or Knotted Wrack. It contains vitamins such as thiamine, folic acid, vitamin C, amino acids, and minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, and iodine. Reported benefits include weight loss and improved dental health.

Chondrus Crispus

Known under the common name Irish Moss or Carrageen Moss, it is a species of red sea vegetables high in iodine and sulfur that grows abundantly along the Northern Atlantic coastline. Known mostly for aiding in digestion and intestinal disorders, it possesses antibacterial and antiviral properties. It is also considered an anticoagulant and research has claimed that it may reduce high blood pressure and the risk of arteriosclerosis.  

Fucus Evanescens

An Arctic species originating in the North Atlantic. As with other brown sea vegetables it is very high in magnesium and protein, vitamin A, iodine, bromine, and phosphorous. It also contains vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E and an extensive list of minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium, sulfur, chloride, silicon, iron, manganese, copper, zinc, titanium, and trace elements.  Its unsaturated fatty acids assist in protecting your nervous system.

Fucus Vesiculosus

Known by the common names Bladder Wrack, Red Wrack, Red Fucus, and Sea Oak, is found in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Primary chemical constituents of this plant include mucilage, algin, mannitol, beta-carotene, iodine, bromine, potassium, and many other minerals. This species has been shown to help thyroid disorders, obesity, aging skin, and abnormal menstrual patterns. 

Laminaria

Is a genus of 31 species of large, brown sea vegetables, all sharing the common name of Kelp. Aside from its high vitamin B-12 and mineral content, Kelp has strong anticarcinogenic properties. Also, the sodium alginate in Kelp has been shown to reduce the body's absorption of radiation.

Porphyra

May be the most domesticated marine sea vegetable, also known as laver, or nori. It contains more vitamin C than oranges; and has minerals that include manganese, copper and selenium. It is particularly high in trace elements such as zinc.

Ulva Lactuca

A bright green sea vegetable in the division Chlorophyta, is also known by the common name Sea Lettuce. It is high protein and a variety of vitamins(A,B1,C) and minerals (potassium, magnesium,calcium) especially iron. Benefits include supporting the thyroid, boosting the body’s natural detoxification mechanisms, and improving bone health.

Burdock Root

Burdock enhances the performance of many of our organs including the kidneys, gallbladder, liver, and colon which purify the body by eliminating toxins and waste. Traditionally, burdock has been used as a remedy for measles, arthritis, tonsillitis, viruses such as colds, throat pain, and as a diuretic. Today burdock is used in oncology to treat many other serious health conditions. 

Dandelion Root

Many herbal doctors use dandelion to purify the liver and gallbladder of toxins. Dandelion has large amounts of numerous vitamins, including A, C, D, and B-complexes, as well as minerals like iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese, copper, choline, calcium, boron, and silicon. Dandelion can improve overall health and is beneficial to the kidneys, pancreas, spleen, stomach, and other organs. Dandelion is also recommended for the treatment of regulating sugar, tinnitus, tonsillitis, osteoporosis, abscesses, anemia, boils, mammary tumors, cirrhosis, water retention, hepatitis, jaundice, rheumatism, and warts. 

Garlic

The bulbs yield an essential oil containing, allyl propyl disulfide, diallyl disulfide, and two other sulphur compounds. The garlic bulbs have stimulant, anti-cholesterol, anti-bacterial, aphrodisiac, analgesic, anthelmintic, diuretic, emmenagogue, and anti-fungal properties. Reduction in hypertension, lower cholesterol, earache relief, normalizes insulin, reduced pain, and inflammation in arthritis. Strengthens immune system, eczema relief and good for overall digestion. 

Oregon Grape Root

This root contains the alkaloid, berberine, known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties helping with skin irritation and redness.  Protects against bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoans, worms, and chlamydia. 

Pau D Arco

A Powerful Anti-Fungal, Anti-Bacterial, and Anti-Viral herb from South America. blood purification and lymphatic cleansing, giving you a fortified immune system. Your immune system is the first line of defense against all disease. 

Red Clover

A wonderful detergent and cleansing tonic. It is considered a depurative that purifies the blood by promoting the body's eliminative functions. Encouraging the production of bile, the herb helps to purify the liver, thus cleansing toxins from the bloodstream. The increased bile also stimulates the production of digestive fluids that speed up digestion and the elimination of morbid matter from the stomach and intestines. Also, used for menopause symptoms, high cholesterol levels and osteoporosis. Ulva Lactuca, a bright green sea vegetable in the division Chlorophyta, is also known by the common name Sea Lettuce. This anti-inflammatory antioxidant is high in protein and a variety of vitamins A, B1, C and minerals, potassium, magnesium, calcium and especially iron.

Yellow Dock Root

Widely regarded as a powerful astringent, detoxifier, and purifier. Enhances bile production to break down fatty food. Provides iron and promotes its absorption for optimal blood health. Supports bladder, kidney, and liver function while reducing bowel inflammation and irritation.
